HOW TO SUBMIT AN AMENDMENT - Per ARTICLE VIII - Amendments Section 1: The constitution of this Association may be amended at any Annual Training Conference and Convention by two-thirds of the delegates present and voting. Section 2. Any amendment to the constitution of this Association presented at the Annual Training Conference and Convention must be prepared in writing and submitted to the Constitution and By-Laws Committee prior to the close of the Annual Training Conference and Convention planning conference held in January of each year. The Constitution and By-Laws Committee will review, study, and edit the proposal, with the submitting body’s approval. The committee chair will then send the proposal and the contact information of the amendment’s sponsoring entity with the committee’s recommendations for approval or rejection to the Executive Director to be published in the SFFMA monthly newsletter and posted to the SFFMA web site. The Executive Director will have a staff member send this information to all district secretaries on or before March 15. Any questions, comments or debate on a proposed amendment shall be directed to the amendment’s sponsoring entity prior to the start of the Annual Training Conference and Convention. The proposed amendment will then be presented to the Annual Training Conference and Convention by the committee for final action by the voting delegates, and all such amendments must be submitted by a recognized district association or the Executive Board of the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association.
