SFFMA-TCFP Reciprocity

As of July 21, 2025, the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas (SFFMA) has a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) regarding certification reciprocity.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR IFSAC SEAL CONSIDERATION - Personnel who wish to obtain an IFSAC seal must not use the direct reciprocity process. Instead, you must follow TCFP’s challenge process, which includes:

• Completion of the TCFP written examination

• Completion of the TCFP skills evaluation

Only upon successful completion of this challenge process will an IFSAC seal be awarded.
