Letter from SFFMA President, March 2026
Hello fellow SFFMA members!
Spring District Meetings have begun, and we hope to see you soon. Attending these meetings is a great way to learn more about SFFMA, find out what’s happening and network with local departments. You’ll also get a chance to talk with executive board members.
Recruitment and Retention supplies have been delivered to the districts; this pop-up canopy and table cover are for you to utilize and share with the local departments in your area. We hope you find these items useful in recruiting new members to local departments, but also new departments to the districts.
As we are now several months into 2026, I must remind you that your yearly membership expired on December 31 at midnight, if you or your department has not renewed yet. We had a recent LODD where the membership was not current and that is a difficult situation. If you need help getting your membership renewed, please feel free to reach out to the Austin staff and they can help guide you.
We have added several new folks to Austin Staff, and we are excited to have them on board. We have Molly in membership and Nicole (Nikki) in the store. If you happen to call the office or see them, please welcome them to our team.
Conference planning is moving along well and is now just a few short months away. I hope to see everyone in Waco June 11-14. We have two excellent keynote speakers, as well as a top-notch crew of session presenters. Many thanks to all our event sponsors for their support! Please visit our conference webpage for details and the registration link.
I again want to take the opportunity to thank you for your service to your community and your department.
Stay Safe!
Mark Wobus, President
State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas
